GEORGE TOWN (part 1)

Two weeks ago, I had vacation to Penang for several days. Why I choose Penang as my destination? Firstly, I have a friend who studies in Universiti Sains Malaysia located in Penang, so I decided to visit her. Secondly, actually the most important thing in my travelling as what I called “traveller kere(N)”, is promo flight ticket. Hehehe…:D And finally, I had just known that in Malaysia, Penang is a place that one of world heritage according to UNESCO. So, considering all that simple background reasons, I went to Penang with my friend. Actually I also went to Malacca, but I’ll tell the story about Malacca later.

In Penang, there is an area named George Town. UNESCO awarded George Town as World Cultural Heritage City status on July 2008. This award was given because George Town has an impressive collection of building that representing various cultures lived around Penang. In George Town, we can see the architecture building of Chinese, Indians, European, Malay, Arabic, Thai, and Burmese.
Now, I’ll share some pictures which I took when I was in George Town. Here we go…

TOWN HALL

Town Hall

It was the social venue for elite Penang in 1880’s. This place was used for scene in the movie, Anna and The King.

CITY HALL

It was the headquarters of The Penang Island Municipal Council in 1900’s. Nowadays, this building is still used for government meeting.

It was built by Captain Francis Light when he first landed in Penang. It stands guard over the island’s cape.

VOC

This building also has some cannons, maybe in the past it used to protect the island from the enemy. Most of the cannons here have this symbol, I think it’s the symbol of VOC (Verenigde Oost indische Companie), kind of Netherland’s trading partnership.

QUEEN VICTORIA MEMORIAL CLOCK TOWER

Victoria Memorial Clock Tower

It was built in 1897 to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee.

CATHEDRAL OF THE ASSUMPTION

This old church was built not long after arrival of Captain Francis Light in Penang.

ST. GEORGE’S CHURCH

The Church

It was built in 1817 and known as the oldest Anglican’s church in South East Asia.

LOGAN MEMORIAL

It was built by people to memorize James Richardson Logan, who died in 1869. He was a lawyer who stood up against East India Company (Colonial) to champion the rights of local people.

Pada hujan yang turun dari langit,,bersyukurlah…
Karena setiap tetesnya adalah berkah-Nya
Pada dinginnya angin malam yang menyertai,,bersyukurlah…
Karena setiap hembusannya adalah kuasa-Nya

Media dunia nyatanya hanya sementara,,jalanilah…

Bersyukurlah…
Jalanilah…
Ikhlaskanlah…

It’s about intuition.
My soul feels glad.
My spirit comes up.
My world becomes wonderful.

It’s about intuition.
I see the missing pieces of me.
I have the reason to keep smile.
I think i found another way home.

It’s about intuition.
Live in the precious moment.
Stay in the warm heart.
Walk to reach dreams together.

It’s about intuition.
Unquestionable.
Unspoken.

94.608.000 seconds,,,
Play back the moment
Listen carefully every single word
Figure out the meaning inside

94.608.000 seconds,,,
Honesty met confession
No more denying
Whispered hope and dream

94.608.000 seconds,,,
Just like serendipity
Found the real simplicity
With all of the complexity

-Escape From Jakarta to Another Side of Jakarta-

Sekilas info tentang Kepulauan Seribu ya,, Lanjut membaca

SUMMARY TRIP TO DIENG (Cost + Tips)

Hihihi..
Hitungan ini dihitung per orang ya… Lanjut membaca

DIENG (CHAPTER 9) —> ZONA 2: Dieng Plateau Theatre + Beli Oleh-Oleh

DIENG (CHAPTER 8) —> ZONA 2: Sumur Jalatunda

Lokasi berikutnya yaitu Sumur Jalatunda.

DIENG (CHAPTER 7) —> ZONA 2: Telaga Merdada + Kawah Sileri

Next destination,,Telaga Merdada.
Nih cuplikannya.. Lanjut membaca
